DrawBid uses cryptographic random selection to ensure every draw is fair and verifiable. Here's exactly how it works — step by step.

The Draw Process

From ticket sale to winner announcement — every step is logged and auditable.

Step 1

Tickets are sold

Participants purchase tickets at the price set by the organiser. Each ticket is assigned a unique sequential number. All purchases are recorded on the DrawBid ledger in real time. The total ticket count is public and visible on the campaign page.

Step 2

A cryptographic seed is generated

At the draw date and time, DrawBid's system generates a cryptographic random seed. This seed is created using a combination of the final ticket count, a server-side random value, and a timestamp — making it impossible to predict or manipulate in advance. The seed hash is recorded before any winner is selected.

Step 3

Winners are selected randomly

The random seed is used to select winning ticket numbers from the pool of valid entries. The selection algorithm is deterministic given the seed — meaning anyone with the seed and ticket list can independently verify the result. Multiple prize tiers are drawn sequentially using the same seed.

Step 4

Results are logged and audited

The draw execution log is written to an immutable audit trail. This log includes: the seed hash, the full list of ticket numbers, the selected winner ticket numbers, and the timestamp. This log is available for review at any time.

Step 5

Winners are notified and prizes paid

Winners are notified by email and in-platform notification immediately after the draw. Cash prizes are credited to the winner's DrawBid Wallet within 48 hours. Winners may also opt to have prizes paid directly to their bank account after KYC verification.

Cryptographic Randomness

Winners are never selected manually. The random seed is generated by a cryptographic algorithm that is impossible to predict or reverse-engineer. The seed is recorded before winner selection occurs.

Immutable Audit Logs

Every draw execution is permanently recorded in an audit log that cannot be edited or deleted. Organisation admins and DrawBid super-admins can all access the full draw history.

Redraw Policy

If a winner cannot be contacted or declines their prize, a redraw is conducted using a new seed. All redraws are logged with the same audit standards as the original draw. The redraw policy for each campaign is published on the campaign page.

For Organisers: Compliance Requirements

Campaign terms, prize descriptions, and draw dates must be accurate and complete before publishing.

If a draw is cancelled, all ticket holders are automatically refunded — the organiser cannot prevent this.

Organiser platform fees (5% of gross ticket sales for standard draws) are deducted from campaign proceeds, not from participants.
